11:47 a.m. - 2004-07-13 the jappy speech moment is inherent in a lot of japanese films, and especially television dramas; this is when someone in the show starts talking about philosophical stuff like love, life, dreams, aspirations, human loneliness, or whatever, with absolutely no sense of embarassment, that they are talking about lofty stuff. They usually give their speech, in grave tones, and looking far off with teary eyes, as if they are addressing themselves, other people, and whoever in the rest of the world that cares to listen. i'm usually moved to bits.
