kamikaze. do or die while doing
too many things in one day

today a lot of things happened.
first off, i woke up several times at 8am in the morning because i was worried that i might oversleep and be late for a production shoot at tiong bahru. So i ended up waking extra early and then took a taxi down to good old tiong bahru. what a peaceful cloudy serene unhot day.

then the production shoot in a apartment flat followed, the crew were really professional with nice cool light setups which wendy remarked as aquarium lights. yes they really do resemble. But after a while, the setup was switched to window natural daylight because william felt that the earlier setup was too posed and kind of ikea-ish unnatural. So the final natural light setup, together with the bare grey concrete walls, created a kind of east european minimalistic look.

anyway, i met melissa at the shoot. yes she's now working for reelloco. Cool graphics place.

we talked a bit and also bought lunch for the crew. yes we are kar kias. we also took charge of preventing the owners' cats from getting into the set. Our tasks can be considered quite zuo-bo but i think its still ok. Have to slowly learn by observing how people work first la.

Anyway, yes work ended around 5pm and i sat on taxi home while worrying about some unfinished business back in the office. i screwed up a bit by forgetting to get a spot ready for transmission by tomorrow. i am really scared the programmers have programmed it and tomorrow the audience will see 30s of black where the spot should be. i think i must be getting a bit slack of attention these days, cos my work has been quite lousy i must say. I hope all everything goes well.

so ok i got home and i immediately switched on the computer to check the office mail for emails of blame. i also asked a colleague to help me check. luckily zero.

so i went and checked my most watched PS2 auction at yahoo auctions. I've been keeping a hourly lookout on the ps2 i wanted since several days ago. And today someone outbidded me. i imeediately bidded and was outbidded again because of automatic bidding. so i played along and managed to raise the price by 32 dollars. and then i stopped and went to bid on another ps2 which i then won the auction.

and then i got an email from ebay from this canadian guy whom i bidded on the Midnight Madness DVD. i was informed that the shipping would be 11 canadian dollars.

so i think i'll be coughing up some cash this week. and hopefully be happy with PS2!!!! and MIDNIGHT MADNESS!!!

and then i got an email from mamatv about 25 frames till midnight. yes, they told me i had been shortlisted, i'm not sure if its really for the actual event or for one of the prelimary rounds. I think i had been shortlisted because of the incredibly exxagerated email i sent them (its one of my previous posts albeit shorter. they probably think i'm some larger than life extrovert with dramatics just perfect for the camera. but i think i'll probably freeze and be gauche.. and i hope it won't affect my paying-the-bills job. maybe i'll be one of the resident complainers that complain of the sun and other bitchy people.

i thought of kamikaze girls (nice stylish jap movie starring kyoko fukada and one cool jap androgynous girl) and a real zen observation dialogue: Humans when they are handed a real cool/good opportunity, they will sometimes shrink back; am i worthy? is this true?; because humans think it is easier to continue to endure lousy shit, rationalise that life's like that, than to reach out bravely and grab their own happiness.

kamikaze!
