13 things i can tell F about my Malacca Trip
1. 4 irritating, noisy girls sitting in front of me and mom, chatting on almost the whole way there, subjected to their LOUD conversation about nicknames and what not.
2. They stopped talking when the bus driver played the NZ movie about zombie sheep. Quite entertaining. There's a sheep humping a guy, there's a half-sheep half-man mutant running about, there's guy and sheep after-sex scene, plus the chinese subtitles. "it's a fucking sheep!" becomes "it's a sex-act sheep!" when translated literally. Yes my mom read it i think.
3. Chicken rice balls. (not as nice as i remembered, the first time i went Malacca.)
4. A karaoke competition held by the local community where all the participants were female, at least 40, and they have to sing the songs of Zhou Xuan, a famous star/singer/actress of the 1930s.
5. Wide expanse of land. Low-rise settlements. Old colonial style buildings. Shophouses you can see at arab street.
7. Locked myself out of the hotel room. Becos i didn't read the "do not press lock button" sign at the door.
8. Visited the church ruins on top of the hill, took pictures of old tombstones of Dutch seamen and merchants.
9. bought new berms and mystery gifts. And 2 coins from 1920 and 1943. In a few years' time, their value should multiply by a few million.
10. took a trishaw ride to a 300 yr-old temple. Burnt joss sticks and prayers. Prayed for a list of people, nearly forgot to pray for my grandma.
11. i hope my mom had a good trip, even though i did lose patience with her several times here and there, cos of the usual stuff. The thing is i dun even know what we were on about. okay, all water under the bridge.
12. Ate assam fish tail. The waiter-boy said the fishhead was not ready yet.
13. Thought about some things the whole trip... i hope i'm not a natural depressive. Anyway, yea i'm quite interested in comedy now. do check out dave chapelle on youtube, to get your daily dose of laughs.
